Tinian is an Island 40 square miles in area, located in the Western Pacific.
A part of the Northern Mariana Islands chain, it is
a member of the
Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI).
This site is a photo tour of the Island of Tinian as I, my wife Noi and our friends boonie stomp around the Island.

We hope that you enjoy this tour and come back again as it is always being updated with new photos.
Someone ask me when I would be through on the construction of this site.
Hopefully, Never!
(Besides, I really like that clip art)

TOUR   TINIAN
We had one of our Islands explode this weekend (5/10/03).
Anatahan is about 90 miles north of Tinian and had never erupted in recorded history. Oh Well! To qoute Jimmy Buffet, "I don't know where I gonna go, when the valcano blow".

AGUIGUAN ISLAND
Aguiguan is an Island about 10 miles off the Southwest coast of Tinian.
It is about 3 miles by 1.2 miles in area with steep cliffs on the shoreline
that rise to almost 400 feet. It was a Japanese sugar plantation before WWII and has been abandoned ever since. Locally it is called
"Goat Island". Yep! You guessed it, goats all over the place.
This is the landing to the Island.
This is an old diesel engine near the landing. Maybe part of a pump system to get water up the hill?

While Dave, a friend from the Washington, DC area, and I were stomping around the jungle, we ran into these two crazy Thai ladies getting Bamboo Shoots for their dinner.
(Actually, they are our wives Noi and Pong. The Paht Pet Kai was great.)
